FAQ’s

Splash Custom Pools and Spas recommends regular cleaning of swimming pools and spas to keep them running smoothly. Regular maintenance helps prevent costly repairs down the road and extends the lifespan of a pool. Plus, swimming pool and spa maintenance contributes to a healthy and safe environment for fun and relaxation.

Circulation, Cleaning, and Chemistry

Low chlorine could be a factor. Test the water. Chlorine levels should be 1-3 ppm. If the pool water remains cloudy, bring a water sample to Splash Custom Pools and Spas. We can check for other factors that might need attention. The cloudy water could be related to contaminants in the pool, like suntan lotions and sun block. Check the water chemistry and backwash, and add chemicals as needed.

Backwashing should be performed once per week, depending on the swimming pool’s usage. Here are the steps we recommend:

  • Turn off the pump
  • Never turn the multi-port valve on the filter while the pump is running
  • Toll out the discharge hose
  • Turn multi-port valve handle to backwash position
  • Turn on pump and run the system for 2-3 minutes or until water in sight glass is clear
  • Turn off pump
  • Turn multi-port valve to the rinse position
  • Turn on the pump and run system for 1 minute
  • Turn the pump off
  • Turn the multi-port valve back to the filter position
  • Turn the pump on
  • Add water to the pool, if necessary
  • Always run your pump around 2600 rpm for proper water flow

Splash Pools and Spas recommends testing your swimming pool water two to three times per week, depending on usage, for proper water chemistry results.

  • PH levels 7.4-7.6
  • Chlorine levels 1-3ppm
  • Add chemicals after backwash

A simple backwash solves most heater problems. If the error still exists, try a hard reset. Turn breaker off to the heater for 15 seconds, then turn back on. If the problem still occurs, call Splash Custom Pools and Spas.

The water level in the swimming pool should be halfway up the tile. This water level ensures proper skimmer and cover functions.
